Presentations offer a quick way to share your content in a branded format. Unlike Review Links, which provide commenting and annotation tools, Presentations are typically used to showcase finalized work.
In this article, we’ll show you how to quickly assemble your content into a Presentation like the one pictured above. In addition, we’ll demonstrate how to turn an existing playlist into its own Presentation.
Create a Presentation
To create a Presentation, select the files and/or folders you want to share. Then, click the flame icon in the top right, or right-click and select Share > Presentation.
If you want to share a combination of files and folders at once, you can select them by holding the Command key (macOS) or the Control key (Windows) and then clicking on the items you want to share. Once you’ve made your selections, click the flame icon in the top right. To share content from different projects or folders, use the collection bin to gather all the items you want to share in a Presentation. |
In the Share window, you can choose from three different Access options.
- Public: Anyone with the Presentation URL can open the Presentation, even if they are not logged in to MediaSilo.
- Password protected: Anyone with the URL can open the Presentation, as long as they enter the correct password. The password cannot contain the following characters: < > =
- Workspace users: Only certain workspace users can open the Presentation. If you select this option, you must enter one or more user names in the Recipients field.
Next, you can enter an expiration date, or choose “Never” so the presentation never expires.
Under Select Template, choose a template to determine the look and layout of your Presentation. Each pre-made template is offered in a light theme and a dark theme. If your account has Spotlight (our advanced Presentation editor), you’ll find your custom templates below the list of pre-made templates.
A pre-made template will display your brand logo at the top of the page. As an account administrator, you can upload your brand logo by going to Administration > Branding > Set Brand Logo.
You only need to complete this step once; after your logo is uploaded, it’s applied to every Presentation and any Review Link that contains multiple files.
By default, your Presentation is named after the first file or folder you selected to share. To change the default name, click Customize in the bottom left.
This opens an expanded version of the Share window, where you can edit the Presentation’s title to your liking. When viewers open the Presentation in their web browsers, this is the name that will be displayed in the browser tab.
In addition to editing a Presentation’s title, you can also enter a description. A description is optional and is only displayed internally for your team’s reference.
If you want to give your audience the ability to download files from your Presentation, go to the Content section and click the checkbox next to Enable Download.
This way, a download button will appear whenever a viewer hovers over a thumbnail image.
Once you’ve finalized your settings, click the blue Get Link button to create your Presentation URL and start sharing it with your audience.
For analytics on your Presentation, go to the navigation bar on the left and click the bar-graph icon. This will open the Insights page, where you can track activity on Review Links, Presentations, and Spotlights.
At this time, mobile viewing is not supported for Spotlights or Presentations. Please open Spotlights and Presentations in your desktop browser. |
Can I share watermarked content in a Presentation?
Yes, you can share watermarked files in a Presentation. Access to the files will be determined by the Presentation’s access setting and on the type of watermark applied to your content. For example, a watermark template that displays a user’s email address will require viewers to log in before they can view the watermarked files. To learn more, please see Share a Playlist with Watermarked Files.
Share a Playlist as a Presentation
A playlist is a collection of files and/or folders. For example, you can compile a director’s most eye-catching work into one playlist, and headshots for a new project into another. Then, you can use the playlist to build a custom Presentation template in Spotlight, or share the playlist using an existing Presentation template. (You can learn more about playlists here.)
To share a playlist as a Presentation, open the right drawer, and go to the Playlists tab.
Next, click on the playlist you want to share. You’ll see a list of the items contained in the playlist. Then, click the flame icon right above the list.
This will open the Share window, where you can choose your settings as described above. Click Get Link to create and start sharing your Presentation URL.
