Unsupported macOS Version Error
If you receive an error message after upgrading your system's macOS software that states Unsupported macOS Version, the installed version of EditShare Connect (ESC) is too old for the operating system.
This will prevent you from making EFS mounts.
Check the version of EditShare you are running on the EditShare server cluster and the version you are running of the ESC client
The version of ESC client can be found on the opening screen.
The version of the EditShare server cluster can be found on the master server's EditShare home page at the bottom.
If you are running a version of 2024.1.1 or later, EditShare Connect will work with MacOS Sequoia. If you got the Unsupported Mac OS error at the top, and your server is at 2024.1.1 or greater, but the ESC client is not. Then just download a new ESC client from the home page.
If your server cluster is a version below 2024.1.1, then you must update the servers first, then you can download the new version of the ESC client. Updating the cluster from a release below 2024.2 is done through the control panel using the icon install updates.
If you have a multi-server cluster, each server must be updated one at a time. The update should be done on the master first (or each master if cluster High Availability), then each of the other servers.
*Please note SMB mounts should still work with earlier versions of ESC. If you are experiencing an issue with SMB mounts please continue below.
“No Route to Host” Error
This error is typically caused by ESC not having local network access granted by the OS.
To grant Local Network Access
- Navigate to “System Settings”
- Click on “Privacy and Security”
- Scroll down and select “Local Network”
- Locate EditShare Connect
- Toggle permission on
*If permission has already been granted toggle permissions off and on to reset the permission access.
Note: If you have to toggle the Local Network Access for EditShare Connect client after every reboot of your Mac, update your Mac to a newer version of Sequoia. This Sequoia bug was fixed after version 15.3.
