MediaSilo’s AI Search allows you to find specific moments, people, and objects inside your media files without relying on manual tagging. Understanding how the search engine processes data will help you find exactly what you need.
Enabling AI Search
In the search bar at the top, you must first enable AI Search by selecting the AI Search toggle. AI searching is separate from the standard search function. While normal searching queries standard asset data, enabling AI search will specifically search the detailed information generated across all of your AI-indexed projects.
Note: AI Search will not activate AI Indexing for all assets in the workspace. It will only search for AI results for assets that already have AI Indexing enabled. If there are assets you need AI enabled on, a Project Owner for that project or an Admin on the account has the ability to do this. For more information, see: MediaSilo AI - Enabling AI Indexing on a Project
How AI Search Works
When you use AI search, you are performing a keyword search against MediaSilo's AI Indexed features: Transcript, On-Screen Text, Entity Detection (People & Logos), and Scene Detection.
- Dialogue: Spoken words found within the automatically generated transcript.
- Text: Words physically visible on the screen/in the picture.
- Logos: Identified brand marks.
- People/Faces: Identified individuals.
- Scene Detection: Interpretations of the shot's visual contents and actions.
You cannot type in specific prompts to find specified areas in a video. When you enter a search term, the system returns a combined list of detections pulled from several different categories and will display the total number of detections found. This will be displayed at the top right of the asset's thumbnail. If you hover over the number of detections, you will be presented with a breakdown of the specific detections that were found. Search results can be filtered by selecting the specific projects you would like to search in. Selecting a returned result will open the asset and send you directly to the Highlights tab. The system will place markers directly on the video's timeline based on your search, allowing you to easily skip to the exact moments your keyword appears.
