What is Scene Detection?
When a video is processed by MediaSilo's AI, the system preemptively analyzes the visual elements of the file. During this process, the AI provides a text interpretation of the visual contents of each individual shot. These descriptions are linked to specific timecode based points within the video. Scene Detection can be found in the AI Tools Panel under View Scenes. This also will activate the Scene timeline under the video which breaks down each detected scene with its corresponding place in the video.
How Scene Detection Works with AI Search
The scene detection feature works directly with the AI Search bar to help you find specific environments, actions, or objects without needing to manually tag your clips. You can also search for anything within Scene Detection in the View scenes section itself. Additionally, you can select a specific section of the video in the Scene timeline to pull up the description of that scene.
Best Practices for Searching
Use direct keywords based on what you expect to be visually described in the shot. This is highly effective for finding specific elements, such as searching for things like "at night," "on a basketball court," or "dogs playing".
